If you came from a seaside place, this is the period where your friends send you a lot of pictures about what they do on the beach and how tanned they are because in Italy there are 30 degrees. On this case, you have 2 choices: take the first fly for Italy, kill everyone and not see anymore pictures or, much more easy, keep calm and if the seaside will not come to me, I’ll go to the seaside.
This is happened a couple of weeks ago when I decided to take a break from London so I jumped into the train from London Victoria and after 1h35 I arrived to Eastbourne.

The weather wasn’t very nice, but does’t matter because the seafront was what I have dreamt for long time. I spent few time standing to see the horizon and enjoy that moment before take the Eastbourne Sightseeing by the pier to discover the Beachy Head.
Beachy Head with its 162 meters above sea level, is the highest chalk sea cliff in UK and offer one of the best panoramic view over Eastbourne seafront and the English Channel.

How you can immagine, Beachy Head is popular for hikers and paragling enthusiasts, but this spot has also a dark side because of its height has made it one of the most notorious suicide spots in the world (Second only to Golden bridge in San Francisco).
After 3 hours spent to walk around Beachy Head, it was time to eat and there is only one choice, Vintage Inns.
The pub is just next to the bus tour stop and car park
Just because I was on top of cliff I thought to have steak with garlic king prawns, onion and thyme fritter and triple-cooked chips and, just because of my greediness, I couldn’t resist to have also a delicious chocolate pot with cream.
It was time to back to Eastbourne so i jumped into the bus tour and on the way back we pass next to the sheep centre.
Budget for the trip
- Train from London Victoria to Eastbourne: £ 35,20
- Eastbourne Sightseeing (bus tour): £ 10,00
- Lunch: depend on what you order 😉

I personally love Beachy Head, I was there a few months ago and found it extremely inspiring.
I’ve written an article about it, check it out if you feel like 🙂
